Humpback Whale Singing on the Breeding Grounds: Track 22

Humpback Whale Singing on the Breeding Grounds: Track 22

$1.00

This clip is from a humpback whale singing. Only males sing. This was recorded on the winter breeding grounds in the North Atlantic’s West Indies in Mona Passage, around Puerto Rico’s coasts, and in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Females listen and probably get a lot of information about the singer. Males, who compete on the breeding grounds, also get information about each other. We are still trying to understand what the song is broadcasting.

File type: mp4
Duration: 1:14

Category: Whale Song Clip
